CARIBBEAN.ONE
CARIBBEAN ONE was proud to partner with CARIB ID to increase Caribbean American participation in the 2010 census, as our first ever outreach initiative.
We distributed outreach materials, like the piece on the left, through shops and restaurants to Caribbean Americans in New Jersey, home to large communities in The Oranges, Jersey City, Newark, Hillside, Paterson, and Trenton

one country many voices millions strong
Welcome to CARIBBEAN ONE!
This is an exciting time for millions of Caribbean Americans. Immigrants who once focused on
'back home' are taking an interest in their local communities. Those born or raised in the United
States are crossing the old lines of nationality, race, ethnicity, and language. Powerful enclaves
are thriving in major cities. And bridges are being built within and beyond our communities.
CARIBBEAN ONE is a new organization dedicated to empowering Caribbean Americans through
community-building, civic action and cultural expression. Through our outreach initiatives,
website, magazine, cultural events, seminars, and voter guides, CARIBBEAN ONE will work with
other organizations to help shape a progressive, diverse, and dynamic Caribbean American
agenda.
This is the beginning of an incredible journey. We hope you will join us.

During Campaign 2010, Caribbean American communities can play a critical role in at least

the next six months, CARIBBEAN ONE will create a resource center on these and other races
with candidate profiles, interviews for the website, newsletter, and magazine, information on
the districts, deadlines, and critical issues.
CAMPAIGN 2010 RESOURCE CENTER
The launch of Caribbean One was a smashing success on June 29th at the beautiful Alvin Ailey Studios in Midtown New York. 150 guests representing the dizzying diversity of the Caribbean American experience joined Founder Kenrick Ross (pictured above) at the Ailey Studios in Midtown, NY for Caribbean-inspired cocktails and cuisine.
